Porcelain veneers are individually made ceramic restorations for the visible surfaces of front teeth. They can refine colour, shape, proportions and selected spacing concerns while preserving more natural tissue than a full crown in suitable cases.
Planning the smile
Photographs, scans and bite records help evaluate tooth display, gum levels and facial proportions. The desired result should be discussed in terms of natural anatomy, not only whiteness or uniformity.
Clinical suitability
Healthy gums, adequate enamel and a manageable bite are important. Large fillings, severe wear, very dark underlying colour or significant misalignment may change the recommended restoration.
The treatment stages
After preparation where required, records are sent to the dental laboratory. Temporary restorations may be used. The veneers are tried in for fit, shape and shade before adhesive bonding.
Daily care
Brush with a non-abrasive toothpaste, clean between the teeth and avoid using veneers to bite very hard objects. If grinding is present, a protective night guard may be advised.
Reviews and maintenance
Regular dental reviews monitor the veneers, gum health and bite. Although porcelain resists staining, the natural teeth and bonding margins still require professional maintenance.
